The European aircraft manufacturer Airbus delivered its first aircraft A350-1000 to Qatar Airways. The delivery ceremony took place on the territory of the Airbus supply center in Toulouse, France. The aircraft is the first of 37 ordered A350-1000 and is the first Airbus airliner equipped with revolutionary new Qsuite seats, offering the world’s first double bed in a business class cabin. Qatar Airways is the largest operator of the A350 and one of the largest customers of the A350-1000.
“Qatar Airways always requires the best for its customers, so it’s right and logical that we are the first airline in the world that flies to the Airbus A350-1000”, said the Executive Director of Qatar Airways Group, Akbar Al Baker. “This remarkable modern aircraft will become a solid part of the Qatar Airways fleet, which will allow us to continue to offer our passengers an exceptional level of comfort and service”, added he.
In Qatar Airways configuration, Airbus A350-1000 offers 44 additional seats, compared to the A350-900.
“We are proud to supply the very first A350-1000 to our initial customer Qatar Airways”, said the COO of Airbus, Fabrice Bregie. “The A350-1000 is the ideal aircraft to demonstrate the legendary quality and customer service level of Qatar Airways, thanks to its fuel and cost efficiency advantages, along with unparalleled comfort for passengers. This newest wide-bodied platform will play an important role on the busiest long-distance routes of the carrier and will contribute to strengthening their positions in the aviation industry”, added he.
