The management of Magas airport in Republic of Ingushetia expects the airport to receive international status in April. This was announced on Wednesday by the director of the airport Vakha Evloev.
“The Federal Transport Ministry has already approved the package of documents that we submitted, and they will now be examined by the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation”, said Vakha Evloev. “We assume that in April our airport will receive the status of an international one”, added he.
The flights to Kazakhstan and then to Turkey will be the first.
“The first flight will be made to Kazakhstan, because for the Ingushetia it is like the second Motherland, and there are still a lot of our fellow countrymen there. Then there will be flights to Turkey, not daily flights, the plane will fly once a week, season flights will become more frequent”, said the President of the Republic of Ingushetia, Yunus-bek Yevkurov.
Magas Airport is located 30 km north-east of the city. It includes an air terminal (passenger terminal) with the necessary facilities and equipment for border, immigration, customs, veterinary and sanitary-quarantine control, provided for the checkpoint across the state border of the Russian Federation.
